POSITION: Painter
REPORTST TO: Senior Specialty Trades
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
This position is accountable for the preparation and painting of interior and exterior surfaces by brush, roller and spray painting.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
This position is accountable for the following end results:
1. Responsibility for the painting of interior and exterior surfaces by means of a brush, roller and/or spray painting.
2. Responsibility for the painting of buildings, structures, equipment, machinery vehicles, and other surfaces.
3. Responsibility for the application of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, and/or lacquer on interior and exterior.
4. Responsibility for preparing surfaces for painting by washing, sanding, smoothing, removing old paint, filing cracks or holes with putty, plaster or other fillers.
5. Responsibility for mixing, blending and preparing paint for proper color match.
6. Responsibility for erecting ladders, staging and scaffolding for painting and other related
duties.
7. Responsibility for the maintenance and care of all painting supplies.
8. Responsibility for plastering, taping, and mudding for wall repairs and for new installation
9. Moves or assists in the removal of furniture and other heavy equipment to facilitate
painting.
10. Willing to work out of trade, when needed.
11. Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum five years full time experience as a painter.
2. Must possess a valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator's license (Class 3).
SALARY: See Salary Schedule in Collective Bargaining Unit
WORK YEAR: 12 months
WORK DAY: 1:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Summer Hours (End of School Year until Start of School Year), Monday through Friday plus
overtime
