Job Description GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOBThe Material Handler is responsible for creating a safe and organized work environment that allows for the efficient flow of materials and products into and out of the organization. The Material Handler store and issue materials as needed for efficient product production. The individual in this role is detail oriented to ensure products are shipped and received according to bill of lading and packing slips. This position collaborates with management and manufacturing personnel ensuring excellent products to the customer. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the major functions of this position and are not intended to be a detailed description of all the work/functions that may be required. Other duties may be assigned.
- Examine shipment contents within 24 hours of receipt and compare them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
- Record shipment data with 98% accuracy (such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies) for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
- Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter. Ensure 98% accuracy.
- Deliver or route materials to departments using hand trucks, forklift or sorting bins while ensuring all safety standards are met 100%.
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain weekly inventory of stock.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock weekly and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors. Determine a plan of action to prevent discrepancies and determine necessary training to prevent future errors.
- Keep record of and dispose of damaged or defective items or return them to vendors within 48 hours.
- Daily clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Immediately report any safety concerns.
- Daily prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued.
- Conduct daily forklift and hand tool maintenance checks. Request maintenance and retraining as needed to ensure safe driving and operation of forklifts.
- Safely and efficiently create a work environment that enables an efficient flow of materials and products into and out of the facility. Responsible for performing all work tasks in a safe manner and in accordance with organizational safety policies and requesting maintenance as needed.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- One to Three months experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software, preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP system, preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, outlook and excel), preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Driver's License, preferred.
- Forklift certification, required.

- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
