Job Description:

Summary

The Paralegal / Compliance Associate will help administer compliance and ethics processes and provide general paralegal and administrative support for the Office of General Counsel.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

  • Assist in tracking compliance and ethics matters delegated to the Office of General Counsel, obtain and provide updates to internal and external stakeholders - including donors - about these matters, and maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date electronic records of assigned matters. (65%)
  • Provide general administrative support to the Office of General Counsel, including submitting invoices for payment, reviewing monthly expenses for accuracy, helping to plan team meetings, and ensuring compliance with agency-wide policies and procedures. (15%)
  • Prepare and file regulatory reports on behalf of Save the Children and its affiliates; perform other job duties as may be required (10%)
  • Provide administrative support to the Vice President and General Counsel, including managing calendars and logistics for internal and external meetings, preparing travel arrangements and expense reports, and drafting correspondence as requested. (10%)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience at a law firm, government agency, or corporate legal department.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience documenting and reporting on compliance matters, including experience with compliance or case management software
  • Experience working in an organization with international operations
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, nonprofit organizations and/or international development and humanitarian operations
  • Knowledge of legal requirements related to U.S. government grants and contracts
  • Compliance Certification
