The Finger Lakes Performing Provider System (FLPPS) is a network of clinical and community-based providers working together across the 13-county Finger Lakes region to transform healthcare delivery, advance system transformation, close gaps in care, and support high-risk individuals and populations. FLPPS and our affiliated health home, the Greater Rochester Health Home Network (GRHHN) support providers in integrated healthcare delivery system optimization, care management, network and program management, population health and data analytics, and learning development. Additionally, FLPPS is a designated New York State Workforce Investment Organization (WIO) working with training and educational institutions, health systems, and other providers, to strengthen the healthcare workforce.Position SummaryThe role of the paralegal is to contribute their legal expertise to support the mission of FLPPS. The paralegal will liaise with external legal counsel, as well as collaborate with staff on various legal tasks, such as writing and reviewing contracts, researching laws and regulations, assisting with grant applications, and participating in legal advocacy efforts.Responsibilities•Liaise with organizations' legal counsel•Preparation and review of all contracts•Assist with the preparation of grant applications•Maintain legal documents and ensure records retention requirements are adhered to•Ensure the organization is adhering to contract terms, including funding and reimbursements•Perform administrative tasks as requestedQualifications•Bachelor's Degree and Paralegal Certification required•Minimum of 3 years of non-profit experience preferably in healthcare•Minimum of 3 years' experience working with attorneys, writing and reviewing contracts•Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills •Track record of meeting deadlines while working on multiple parallel projects and effectively shifting priorities as needed•Strong attention to detail, proactive outlook, and the ability to follow assignments through to completion•Collaborative working style with the ability to work across different matrix teams•Exceptional ability to effectively manage and communicate with highly proficient technical contributors and business colleagues and make complex ideas understoodCompetencies•Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in legal research and document preparation•Confident and comfortable public speaker•Ability to interact with external partners and staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of professionalism•Excellent critical thinking ability and strong decision-making ability •Outstanding discretion in handling of Protected Health Information, financial and other confidential information•Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); adept at relating to all levels in a complex organization•Flexibility and positive attitude to accept duties as assigned to support changing activities•Innovative and solution-focused•Collaborative and team-oriented•Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvementIn support of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), this job description lists those responsibilities and qualifications deemed essential to the position.
