POSITION SUMMARY: The Mortgage Foreclosure Paralegal is responsible for assisting attorneys in the preparation and management of foreclosure cases, from initial filing through resolution. They must have a strong understanding of mortgage foreclosure law, and the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment. This position requires the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and applicable state laws governing debt collection and foreclosure. Prepare complaint packages, including civil cover sheets, summons, and exhibits, for filing with the court. Draft foreclosure pleadings, such as Notices of Sale, Notices of Hearing, Motions for Summary Judgment, and Final Judgments. Prepare cover letters for judges, including submissions of proposed orders, final judgments, and original documents. Conduct mortgage and satisfaction searches to verify lien status and property details. Draft Answers and Affirmative Defenses in response to foreclosure claims. Prepare motions for case management conferences, trial notices, and motions to reschedule sales or hearings. Schedule hearings and coordinate related logistics to ensure timely proceedings. Manage case files, and track deadlines. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: Proficient with technology applications, including document management software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experienced with State and Federal e-Filing systems and court filing procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Paralegal Certificate and/or Associates or degree preferred.
