Full-time | Paralegal (Real Estate Transactions)

Acadia (NYSE:AKR), headquartered in Rye, New York, is a fully-integrated, self-managed and self-administered real estate investment trust. Through our REIT and Opportunistic Fund investment platforms, we are focused primarily on the acquisition, ownership, redevelopment and management of retail properties, including neighborhood and community shopping centers, urban high-barrier-to-entry street retail, and mixed-use properties with retail components.

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Paralegal to join our in-house Legal team to support the companys real estate operations, acquisitions, dispositions, financings, litigation and public company activity.

Responsibilities will include (among others):

  • Organizing and facilitating closings, including drafting and reviewing various closing documents, assignments, consents, and certificates.
  • Preparing, reviewing and distributing tenant estoppels, confidentiality agreements, organizational documents and secretary certificates.
  • Coordinating receipt/review of title commitments/policies and surveys and assisting in resolution of title and survey issues.
  • Reviewing due diligence materials and managing post-closing matters.
  • Handling various public company and operational matters for the company and a limited amount of administrative support for the group.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years' prior experience with real estate transactional work preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all departments in the company and to think strategically and take ownership of projects.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to be proactive and prioritize in an effective manner to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail, judgment, follow through with initiative and dependability.
  • Superior communication skills verbal and written with a high level of professionalism. Position will require an individual with ability to handle confidential information.
