Primary responsibility is for the pre-hospital emergency medical care of the citizens of Emanuel County.This includes both emergency and non-emergency medical care and transportation.Secondary responsibilities include assisting in the emergency and non-emergency care of patients within the Hospital.The Paramedic is an employee of Emanuel Medical Center and is expected to follow the policies and procedures of the facility.The Paramedic answers to the EMS director.In the absence of the EMS Director, he/she answers to the Assistant EMS Director. Education A high school diploma or GED Completion of a Paramedic Course License Current Georgia Paramedic License Verified: Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma (Georgia EMS License ManagementSystem) CPR card. ACLS card Georgia Driver's License Physical Demands •Paramedic is required to lift, carry, and load into an ambulance all patients (100+ pounds). Work in extreme conditions which may include:extreme temperatures, uneven or rough footing, slippery footing, stairs or high angle positioning and low light situations. •Paramedic must work in the back of a moving vehicle with a sixty (60) inch headroom. •Paramedic must be in physical condition to work at an accident scene in extreme conditions for an indefinite period of time, to extricate, treat, carry, load and transport the injured patient. •Paramedic must be able to differentiate color as it pertains to patient conditions. •Paramedic should have eyesight that is correctable to 20/20 vision. •Paramedic must possess hearing, touch and smell senses that will enable them to adequately and safety meet the diagnostic needs of the patients served. •The position has a high level of exposure to blood borne pathogens.
