Starting at $18.00 per hour*. Part- time positions available from 5.5 hours per day; ability for flexible schedule/ job share; full- time benefit eligible positions available 6.5 hours per day. QUALIFICATIONS To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill, and /or ability necessary.
High School Degree required; **Associate's Degree or at least 2 years of college credit preferred.** Effective interpersonal skills, positive attitude and a desire to work with children. Strong organizational skills. Computer literate, including a working knowledge of email use and word processing software. Current certification in First Aid and CPR. Submission of PA School Personnel Health form. Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the classroom teacher with implementation of individual and group instruction, testing and assessment procedures. Assist the classroom teacher in the care and management of students in the classroom and other areas, such as special subject areas, lunch room, playground, and bus duty. Assist the classroom teacher by preparing instructional and classroom materials. Assist the classroom teacher by performing duties required to optimize instruction. Assist students by reading questions, passages from text and tests following teacher's instructions. Assist with collection of data relevant to students' needs (academic, behavioral, functional skills). Maintain accurate student data and records, as well as communication with the case manager. **Assist skills related to personal and social self-sufficiency, which may include but is not limited to, toileting, feeding, personal hygiene. ** Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the facilitator and classroom teachers. **Support students with emotional or behavior concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills.** Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for the students and monitor their progress. * This position description does not express or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the incumbent in this position.
