What are the hours like?
- Hours are based on school district schedules.
What are the duties and responsibilities?Classroom Support:
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Provide support to students during classroom instruction, small group activities, and independent work.
Student Assistance:
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts and provide additional instruction.
- Assist students with assignments, projects, and homework as directed by the teacher.
Behavioral Support:
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment by reinforcing classroom rules and expectations.
- Assist in managing student behavior and implementing behavior management strategies.
Student Supervision:
- Monitor students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students in all settings.
Instructional Materials Preparation:
- Assist in preparing instructional materials, such as worksheets, visual aids, and learning resources.
- Set up and organize materials for classroom activities and projects.
Technology Assistance:
- Assist students with the use of educational technology and digital tools.
- Support teachers in integrating technology into lesson plans and activities.
Data Collection:
- Assist in collecting and recording student data, such as attendance, grades, and assessment results.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the teacher or school.
Communication:
- Communicate regularly with teachers, and other school staff regarding student progress and concerns.
- Relay important information between home and school as needed.
Professional Development:
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Stay informed about best practices in education and special education.

QualificationsWhat do you bring?
- High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
- Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
- Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
- Previous experience working with individuals with special needs or disabilities is preferred.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with diverse needs.
- Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with a team, and adapt to changing situations.
- Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information.
