As a paraprofessional, you will engage students in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth in subject matter and related skills while also contributing to student's development as mature, able, and responsible adult. Additionally, you will support the needs of students with various abilities throughout the school day.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides small group or 1:1 instructional and/or behavioral supports based on student needs and lessons created by teachers. Communicates high expectations for behavior by teaching, practicing, and reinforcing rules and consequences.Provides feedback to teachers about students' progress and needs.Maintains accurate and up-to-date records.Demonstrate and model respect for individuals and responsible citizenship.Works to become knowledgeable about best practices in working with students.Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Maintain order in the classroom in a fair and culturally sensitive manner.Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.Demonstrate and model respect for individuals and responsible citizenship.Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.Participate in all required professional learning programs.Participate in IEP and 504 plan meetings for assigned students.Comply with federal and state laws and regulations and with district policies.Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Other duties as assigned.Essential Qualifications:Education : Associate's degree or at least two years of study at an accredited college or university preferredLicensure and Certification: Must be eligible to meet Delaware requirements for paraprofessional licensure and certification(s) in accordance with Delaware Professional Standards Board regulations (14 DE Admin.
