Job Objective: The After-School High-Dosage Tutoring Monitor is responsible for overseeing students during their after-school tutoring sessions, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment. The monitor will work closely with students receiving virtual tutoring from Varsity Tutors and those working on digital pathways. Minimum Qualifications: - Must hold Valid Ohio Paraprofessional Permit or Student Monitor Permit
- Current Trotwood Paraprofessional
- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position: Student Supervision: Monitor students during their after-school tutoring sessions to ensure they are engaged and focused. Provide a safe and supportive environment for students to learn. Address any student concerns or issues promptly. Technical Support: Assist students with any technical difficulties they may encounter while using virtual tutoring platforms or digital pathways. Ensure that all necessary equipment and technology are functioning properly. Classroom Management: Provide high expectations and show an active interest in student progress. Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment. Establish and enforce classroom rules and expectations. Communication: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers regarding student progress and any issues that may arise. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and participation. Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance tutoring skills and knowledge. Stay up-to-date on best practices in education and tutoring. Working Conditions: Potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases. Potential for interaction with disruptive and/or unruly individuals. Exposure to adverse weather conditions and seasonal temperature extremes. Duties may require operating and/or riding in a vehicle.
