Position Title:Paratransit Bus Operator
Reports to:Operations Manager
Status:Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $22.15 - $26.52 (Subject to Union Contract)
JOB SUMMARY: To provide transportation to the disabled and senior community, ensuring they get where they need to go safely. Paratransit Drivers provide passengers with safe, reliable transportation and excellent customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows general policies, procedures and practices in compliance with federal, state, local and company rules and regulations.
- Provide door-to-door transportation for passengers safely and efficiently.
- Ensure passengers are properly secured and provide assistance with all entries and exits.
- Greet passengers, accept fare payment and maintain a safe environment.
- Properly report all incidents, accidents, mechanical concerns.
- Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- A valid California driver's license in good standing with the ability to obtain a CDL permit.
- Must be able to pass a Background Check.
- Must be able to pass a DOT Physical and drug test.
- Possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Punctual with an emphasis on attendance.
- Be flexible with work schedule.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is accomplished outdoors.
- Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- May be asked to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
- May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, you have access to safety protective gear.
