To learn more, click here .For our Mission, click here .DEFINITION: To provide services to deaf and hard of hearing infants and toddlers, ages birth through three, and their families/caregivers. SUPERVISOR: Parent Infant Program Coordinator FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct center based playgroups for deaf and hard of hearing infants and toddlers and their families/caregivers.Provide home visits to deaf and hard of hearing infants and toddlers and their families/caregivers.Provide ongoing education to families/caregivers in the areas of language and communication skills development of deaf and hard of hearing children, American Sign Language, and Deaf Culture.Complete all reports required by the Department of Public Health and Early Intervention centers and attend team meetings with agency representatives as requested. Participate in intake visits for interested families/caregivers.Attend multidisciplinary team meetings with program staff including the Parent Infant Program Coordinator, Early Childhood Director, teacher assistant, speech/language pathologists and Parent Liaison.Complete ongoing assessments on children, write final reports, and participate in IEP meetings as requested.Assist families/caregivers in discussing and planning transitions to appropriate preschool programs.Participate in outreach and professional development activities including workshops, conferences, task force participation, early intervention center visits.Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Early Childhood Center.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.   • Master's Degree of Education of the Deaf (MDE), or related field preferred
  • Ability to be certified as a Specialty Service Provider for deaf and hard of hearing infants and toddlers through the Department of Public Health
  • Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing infants and toddlers and their families
  • Fluency in American Sign Language
Salary Description $33.00 - $53.00 Hourly
