Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification): - High school diploma or GED and 2 year of work related experience.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must possess auto liability insurance.
- Work after 5 p.m. and weekends required.
Preferred Qualifications: - Proven public speaking and project management experience.
- Program development experience.
- Proven ability to coordinate events/programs.
- Demonstrate ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and across all age groups.
- Diversion, Equity and Inclusion experience.
Special Working Conditions and/or Hazards: - Employees work indoors and are protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes.
Job Duties: - Oversees the implementation and facilitation of the Parent Project curriculum for parents of youth in placement.
- Develop schedules and coordinate with facilitators and participants.
- Monitor and evaluate the program's effectiveness and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Organizes and lead parent support groups to provide ongoing assistance and resources.
- Facilitate discussions, addressing concerns, and connecting parents with necessary services.
- Maintain regular communication with group members and track their progress.
- Oversees the restitution process for court-involved youth, including tracking payments and ensuring compliance with court orders.
- Coordinate with community service providers and other community stakeholders to facilitate restitution opportunities.
- Report on program outcomes and making recommendations for improvements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
Summary of KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES required for the position: - Must possess analytical skills/abilities, which include: Ability to exercise sound judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in addressing the complex challenges faced by parents of court-involved youth.
- Must possess organizational and coordination skills/abilities, which include: Ability to manage and coordinate multiple programs, including groups to support parents and court-involved youth, and restitution programs. Ability to organize and lead group discussions, workshops, and support sessions for parents.
- Must possess clerical/administrative skills/abilities, which include: Ability to complete timely, accurate reports to the supervisor regarding the program's effectiveness, outcomes, and progress to support strategic planning and decision-making. Ability to perform data entry and maintain accurate tracking systems for program participation and outcomes, as well as create detailed reports and present findings to the court and community stakeholders as needed.
- Must possess computer/technical skills/abilities, which include: Ability to operate personal computer, case management software and Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel). Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to use various office equipment (computer, smart phone, printer, fax, scanner, copier) as needed.
- Must possess written and oral communication skills/abilities, which include: Ability to communicate (written and orally), build rapport and maintain effective working relationships with families, facilitators, court staff, and community partners. Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse populations. Ability to resolve conflicts and mediate challenging situations involving parents and youth.
- Must possess empathy and patience, which include: Ability to work compassionately with families experiencing stress and crisis. Ability to adapt approaches to meet the unique needs of different families and youth. Ability to provide consistent support and encouragement to parents navigating the juvenile justice system.
