This position will serve as the Parenting Educator Credential Coordinator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County in support of the New York State Parenting Education Partnership (NYSPEP). This position will be responsible for the oversight, implementation, and marketing of the Parenting Educator Credential program. Will work with the Executive and Steering Committees, as well as relevant workgroups to implement best practice strategies and recommendations. This position is responsible for the credential application process; recruitment and training of ParentingEducator Credential mentors and promoting the Parenting Educator Credential and the importance of quality parenting education throughout NYS. This position is responsible to further develop and to grow the New York State Parenting Educator Credential program.

POSITION DETAILS:
This position is a full-time non-exempt position - 100% FTE, 40 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $20.00. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance, retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave.

Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelors Degree or equivalent education (Associates Degree and 2 years of transferrable program/functional experience) in education, human services, or related field.
+ Experience relevant to the role of the position.
+ Knowledge of credentialling systems.
+ Must begin the Parenting Education Credential process within the first six (6) months of hire; and complete within two (2) years of hire.
+ Valid NYS Drivers License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
+ Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Responsibilities:
Delivery - 5%
+ Provide the parent credential educational program as defined.
+ Implement already-established educational programing and activities as identified/needed to support the established plan of work.
+ Assist the Program Manager in ensuring that program delivery is within scope of the statewide and Association Plan of Work.
+ Serve as subject matter resource.
+ Effectively utilize all forms of mass media, including social media, for the innovative delivery of educational programs.
+ Work to foster acceptance of the NYSPEP Program, methods, and policies while addressing community and individual needs and considering diverse audiences.
+ Serve as a team member and cooperate with the entire Association and Program staff to achieve Association program delivery goals.
Evaluation- 5%
+ Implement program evaluation as designed.
+ Assist in the interaction with various constituencies to obtain their evaluation of programs.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Direction - 5%
+ Assist Program Manager and other program staff with administrative tasks in the planning of educational programs.
+ Provide input in planning the structure of delivering educational programs via various methods.
+ Provide input to the Program Manager in planning the delivery of established educational program goals.
+ Assist Program Manager in proposing program budget based on established financial guidelines and/or procedures and assist in the allocation of program budget amounts.
+ Provide administrative assistance in planning for mass media efforts.
+ Assist in identifying opportunities for fund development opportunities.
+ In collaboration with Steering Committee and PD Workgroup, design implementation strategies to engage parenting educators in Professional Development.
Management - 5%
+ Provide administrative tasks in guiding the implementation of communication strategies.
+ Solve problems and resolve conflicts that arise in the program utilizing appropriate policies and procedures.
+ Give guidance to volunteers and staff, including those performing similar work utilizing established practices and procedures.
+ Assist in identifying and recommending program needs (i.e. program supplies and materials) to the Program Manager.
+ Develop and maintain professional relationships as appropriate with community agencies and businesses to promote efficient utilization of resources and support NYSPEP mission and objectives.
+ Recruit Parenting Educator Credential Mentors as workshop presenters, mentors, and consultants in collaboration with the Outreach Coordinator.
Coordination/Operation - 75%
+ Coordinate, compile and organize existing program resources and program materials.
+ Implement established program schedule.
+ Assist with program evaluation to include: collecting evaluation and needs assessment data from program participants.
+ Coordinate program implementation efforts, planning and activities.
+ Organize and coordinate activities related to NYSPEP Parent Education Credentialing Programming.
+ Assist in the allocation of program budget amounts.
+ Prepare and submit expense reports.
+ Coordinate identified administrative aspects of the NYSPEP Program to include, but not limited to: ordering and inventory of supplies (including end of year inventory), assist with marketing, assist with brochure development and distribution.
+ Provide administrative support for fund development activities as identified.
+ Assist in utilizing effective marketing strategies in the promotion of programming efforts to include, but not limited to: print media, news media, social media, and multi-media efforts.
+ Provide information to community media representatives regarding individual programs and refer other questions to other staff members as appropriate.
+ Meet quarterly with Credential Workgroup.
+ Use existing reports and recommendations to further advance and develop the NYSPEP Credential system.
+ Create and implement yearly calendar of Credential tasks in conjunction with the Credential Workgroup.
+ Use Outreach, Marketing and Promotion plan to promote the Credential program.
+ Survey all current credentialled NYSPEP parenting educators for interest in serving as workshop presenters, mentors, and consultants.
+ Train Parenting Educator Credential Mentors as workshop presenters, mentors, and consultants.
+ Provide mentorship, training, coordination and support for NYSPEP Credential applicants.
+ Review and update credential application in accordance with OMH accessibility Guidelines.
+ Effectively maintain existing professional relationships with other agencies, organizations and businesses that promote effective communication and facilitate continued programming efforts.
+ This position may require the transport of program participants and/or program materials and resources in performing position responsibilities.
Professional Improvement and Other Duties as Assigned - 5%
+ In cooperation with Supervisor and/or Deputy Executive Director, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes in programming and association priorities.
+ Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension including but not limited to attendance at staff meetings, timely reporting of expenses, working with other staff, general marketing of Extension programs and other duties as assigned.
