Location: Palm Beach,FL, USA
Assists in directing Ranger operations for all County parks by their continuous review and implementation of procedures to ensure effective performance of assigned functions. Schedules, assigns, trains, and supervises the work of Park Rangers and other personnel; assists in interviews, hires, and terminations as needed; patrols districts to observe Park Rangers' performance and to lend assistance. Conducts/supervises investigations of public complaints; answers questions; assists the public with emergencies; reviews incident reports for accuracy; explains Park policies, rules, regulations, ordinances, and state statutes; controls crowds at large gatherings and special County park events; communicates with various law enforcement agencies to ensure park safety/security. Performs work under the general supervision of the Park Ranger Chief.
NOTE: Final working schedule will be overnight shift from 12:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. after training is completed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Park Ranger, Security/Military Personnel or Civilian law enforcement AND one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Necessary Special Requirement: May be required to obtain First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certification as required by area of assignment within 11 months of hire.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE IN/WITH: Customer Service; handling crowd/traffic control. Also desirable: Associate's Degree/two (2) years of college-level coursework (must specify 60-semester/90-quarter hours) in Criminal Justice/Public Administration/ related field; bi/trilingual (English/Spanish//Creole); valid First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
