Essential Duties and Job Description:

  • Kill Creek Park workers complete assigned tasks and assist where needed. They are required to directs and assist seasonal personnel in completing assignments safely, efficiently, and within a reasonable amount of time. They may be asked to train new crew members as well. Park workers shall ensure safety standards are met at all times, Paperwork to be completed will include timesheets, Purchase transaction forms, and equipment logs.
  • Vehicle and equipment operation includes safely operating trucks with or without trailers, industrial lawn equipment, tree and brush chippers, skid steer and excavators, and utility vehicles.
  • Performing general, routine, and complex maintenance of light and medium duty equipment is done routinely. Some mechanical repairs are done by Park Workers as well.
  • General park maintenance includes repairs to structures, all aspects of lawn and landscape maintenance, plumbing and electrical repair, chemical application, routine cleaning, and all aspects of arboriculture.

Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Scheduling and shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Applicants must have a clean driving record and a valid drivers license.

Experience and Skill Requirements:

Kill Creek Park Park Worker I, must have three years of experience in either tree care, golf course maintenance or grounds maintenance. Similar skill levels acquired from private experience such as farming or personal land management may also be considered.

All JCPRD employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.

Uniform Required

Travel required 25% local and 5% outside of county.

JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department.
