Job Description:
In this role, you will answer, screen, and resolve non-emergent phone calls to support the activities of the Parking Enforcement Officers in the field.
Examples of Duties:
* Answers and screens call, transferring emergency calls to Consolidated 911 Center.
* Resolves non-emergent calls by reviewing records, providing appropriate information, and responding to citizen questions and concerns.
* Generates calls for service using a Computer Aided Dispatch system to dispatch and communicate with Parking Enforcement Officers.
* Coordinates with Parking Enforcement Officers to contact tow trucks.
* Monitors street sweeping of parked cars.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Ability to complete SLED Security Awareness Training and NCIC 16 Hour Inquiry Course and obtain certification within first week of employment.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software.
Preferred Qualifications:
* One year related professional experience.
* Familiarity with computer aided dispatch (CAD) and/or Law Enforcement Message Switch (LEMS) systems preferred.
Other Necessary Requirements:
* May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
* In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City's needs.
