The Parking Enforcement position varies in shifts and days off (including weekend and holiday work as assigned) Essential Duties and ResponsiblitiesEssential functions include, but are not limited to: Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties involved in the enforcement of City parking ordinances; enforces time-limit parking regulations on streets and City-operated facilities; interprets and explains parking rules and regulations; may need to participate in court appearances and or hearings; and performs related work as required. Minimum QualificationsEXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Education, Training, and Experience: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade; possession of or ability to obtain a 40-hour P.O.S.T. PC832 Module A certification within six months of hire and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license. Knowledge of: Proper English usage; basic arithmetic; basic public relations; alpha and numerical order; appropriate safety precautions and procedures; report writing techniques; modern office equipment including a computer and applicable software; proper storage, inventory and safety procedures and simple record keeping methods.
