POSITION: Parking Services Attendant
This position follows all provisions of the SMART/UTU collective bargaining agreement.
REPORTS TO: Parking Manager
LOCATION: ALB
AIRPORT: Albany International Airport
SUMMARY
This position is an ambassador of the Company and professional, ethical conduct is always critical. Responsible for the timely and efficient monitoring of the Parking Control System and responding to all Customer Parking problem issues. In addition, Customer service and Cash handling duties will be required. Shift work, including weekends and holidays is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
+ Meet and greet Airport patrons and provide directions or other assistance, as requested, while always presenting a friendly, helpful image of the Airport. Participation in customer feedback programs including administering surveys to the traveling public.
+ Monitor the PARCS system in the Command Center
+ Complete understanding of the Parking Control System and the ability to troubleshoot and correct problems as they arise.
+ Communicate professionally through phone calls, in person, electronically and written correspondence.
+ Ability to multi-task frequently, managing multiple duties, with constant interruptions.
+ Be able to explain Albany International Airports parking policies and procedures to customers, as needed.
+ Be able to accurately quote and calculate parking fees and schedules.
+ Be able to solve problems as they arise at the Point of Sale concerning Pay on Foot machines, lost tickets, allowable discounts, or validation issues, as well as answer questions concerning charges.
+ Must be able to handle cash and credit card transactions in an outdoor environment.
+ Responsible for knowing and adhering to Company and Airport policies and procedures.
+ Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and professional workspace and environment at all times.
+ Ability to drive Airport Vehicles.
+ Assist the custodial and maintenance staff concerning health and safety procedures this may include light disinfecting and cleaning duties throughout the Parking Facilities.
+ Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

+ Must speak fluent English
+ Must have excellent communications and people skills
+ Must pass customer service training and ability to be trained on the parking system.
+ Basic knowledge of the geographical area and available transportation options.
+ Successfully complete Customer Service Program Training and Parking Control Center Training
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
+ High school diploma or GED
+ Prior experience in customer service and some computer knowledge a plus.
+ Ability to use MS Office products a plus.
+ Able to work flexible hours.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid New York State drivers license as a condition of employment.
