The St. Louis County Department of Parks and Recreation Asphalt Crew is growing and currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team.
The starting salary range for these positions is as follows:
Maintenance Driver Lead$23.10 - $27.72 hourly.
Construction Supervisor$33.17 - $39.80 hourly

Examples of Duties
Maintenance Driver Lead:
Operate heavy equipment, vehicles and machinery requiring a Commercial Drivers License in maintenance activities.
Lead lower level workers operating heavy equipment.
Perform administrative tasks associated with the supervision of worksites, projects and staff.
Repair and replace asphalt roadways and surfaces.
Maintain, repair or install concrete structures or surfaces.
Care for and clean designated indoor and outdoor areas.
Provide care and propagation for trees, shrubs, turf and plants.
Remove snow and ice.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Construction Supervisor:
Oversee the implementation of assigned projects including appropriate resource allocation, budget monitoring, project plan interpretation, regular progress inspection and job site safety.
Develop maintenance plans and programs, including budgeting and planning for inventory, equipment and material needs.
Repair and replace of asphalt roadways and surfaces.
Perform carpentry work in the construction, maintenance or repair of structures and fixtures.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Maintenance Driver Lead:Possession of a Valid Class A CDL and three years of related experience, including one year in a lead or supervisory role;or an equivalent amount of training and experience.
Construction Supervisor: Possession of a valid driver's license and seven years of related experience including four years in a lead role; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidates must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License or the ability to obtain one prior to completion of a six month probationary period.

SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available.
The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire.
The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.
All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.
