Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary: Patrols City park and recreation facilities to verify authorized facility rentals, prepares facility prior to rental, enforces park rules and regulations; performs basic maintenance of parks and public facilities, and assists with community event set-up and break down procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(The duties listed are intended to serve as an example of the typical functions performed. They are not exclusive or all-inclusive and will vary with assignments.)
- Patrols City parks and facilities, on foot and/or by vehicle, to enforce rentals, park rules codes and regulations to confirm rental compliance, prevent damage, destruction and theft to recreation grounds and facilities.
- Cleans and restocks park restrooms daily; and cleans concession stands for cobwebs, bugs, dusting, at Freedom Park (2), Ira Van Bullock Park, Veterans Park, and Community Park, monthly
- Verifies authorized pavilion, field and facility renters have a valid permit, and calls Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office for assistance in removing unauthorized users.
- Issues free Small Group (up to six (6) people) Field Use Permit, and monitors use.
- Greets renters at the beginning of rental period, inspects rental facilities at the end, and signs off on security deposit refund form.
- Opens and closes parks gates, restrooms, athletic field gates and concession stands as required.
- Cancels field lighting and rentals as required for no shows or rain-outs for fields.
- Reports vandalism and incidents to PBSO and Public Works, and obtains a Police Report.
- Inspects City parks and facilities (field lighting, athletic equipment, playground) periodically; corrects and reports problems and deficiencies to Supervisors.
- Prepares various athletic fields (lines fields) and courts (removes debris) for safe play.
- Assists with facility, park, and event prep, set-up and breakdown, as required.
- Checks on Little Free Libraries, refills books, and keep clean.
- Collects trash and performs basic custodial duties (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc.) at all assigned parks and facilities.
- Completes park playground structure touch-up painting, as requested.
- Cleans and restocks park restrooms daily; and cleans concession stands for cobwebs, bugs, dusting, at Freedom Park (2), Ira Van Bullock Park, Veterans Park, and Community Park, monthly.
- Keeps the Park Attendant vehicle clean, organized and stocked with required supplies.
- Applies general household chemicals (i.e. degreasers, insecticides) as needed.
- Follows safety rules and regulations of the City and the Department including utilization of personal protection equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Possess and maintain Florida Driver's License.
- Parks and public facility maintenance experience preferred.
