Under limited supervision, plans, organizes, coordinates, and reviews the operations and services of regional park grounds and facilities; provides administrative and technical direction to staff; assists in program, event, and project planning and scheduling; oversees work quality and completeness; monitors maintenance and service contracts.

This is a Fair Labor Standards Act defined Exempt Position - Exempt positions are excluded from minimum wage, overtime regulations, and other rights and protections afforded nonexempt workers. The employee in this position is paid a salary rather than an hourly wage for this position. FLSA does not limit the amount of work time an employer may require or expect from any exempt employee, on any schedule. Hamilton County Government expects an employee in this position to complete the work assigned regardless the amount of hours involved in completing the tasks assigned.
A Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field and four (4) years of direct work experience in business administration, recreation management, or a closely related field, two (2) years of which must be in a lead or supervisory capacity. Must possess a valid driver's license.
OR
Eight (8) years of direct work experience in business administration, recreation management, or a closely related field, two (2) years of which must be in a lead or supervisory capacity. Must possess a valid driver's license.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRMENTS:
A Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) must be obtained within six (6) months of hire date.
Work requires occasional evenings and weekend meetings.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) is preferred at the time of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires moderate physical effort involving walking and with intermittent sitting, keyboarding, standing, and driving. Regular activity in parks and on project work sites is required. May occasionally drive a truck and lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
