Bachelor's degree and certification in special education required.Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Supports students in developing skills related to goals and objectives in the Individual Service Plan (ISP), including reading, writing, math, and study/organizational skills
  • Actively participates in ISP meetings
  • Develops goals and objectives
  • Enters information into CT SEDS system
  • Collects data and report progress
  • Communicates with students/parents/teachers/school staff regarding student needs
  • Communicates with Department of Student Services and Special Education
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Special education certification required
  • 5 years experience as a special education teacher required
  • Ability to develop and maintain a good rapport with students and a personable relationship with teachers
  • Ability to understand and support students with high school level curriculum/assignments
  • Ability to carry out directions in both oral and written form
Salary & Compensation:
  • $31 Per Hour
  • Up to 12 Hours per Week

  • Ability to learn and acquire an understanding of new information, methodologies and techniques and how they apply to school goals and operations
  • Memory adequate to perform tasks/assignments given over long periods of time
  • Ability to concentrate on a task for more than 60 minutes
