This positions is scheduled for 20 hours per week and works on Mondays and Fridays only. The Front Office Coordinator provides a variety of administrative and general medical secretarial support for Matthews Surgery Center, referring physicians of OrthoCarolina and other members within the facility. Serves as the liaison between Matthews Surgery Center, the referring physician practices, OrthoCarolina Administration, all departments within the organization, patients, and the public in general. These should not be regarded as a detailed description of all of the work requirements of each position as it varies according to the unique requirements of the facility(s) and the day to day operations of the facility.Additional responsibilities as a Front Office Coordinator include:
  • Anticipates needs of the facility, patients, and physicians by gathering related records, reports, correspondence or other specific information for communication with various parties.
  • Performs secretarial/clerical duties including scheduling procedures, medical record compliance.
  • Handles variety of matters involving interaction with vendors, contract agencies, practice managers, surgery schedulers, consultants, various staff, board members, medical committees, government agencies and the public.
  • Works closely with ASC Administrator to ensure the efficient, timely flow of overall operation, and promotion of the facility.
  • Oversees scheduling tasks to maintain efficient patient flow and compliance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and process correspondence and mail. Composes correspondence and disseminates to appropriate individuals.
  • Assists in preparing agendas, meeting materials, and notes, including attendance within meetings as requested by the ASC Administrator.

  • High school diploma.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of training and education.
Experience Required:
  • A minimum of two years of medical office experience and knowledge of current medical terminology.
  • Three to five years executive level assistance experience preferred.
