Job Summary

Assists the Head Coach in all aspects of running an NCAA Division III Lacrosse program by teaching and coaching student athletes, recruiting highly selective high school senior athletes, developing and implementing game strategies, and leading physical training and practice organization.

Responsibilities

* Complies with institutional, College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), and NCAA rules and regulations.

* Extensive domestic travel required. Secondary departmental responsibilities will be assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation.

* Serves on departmental committees. Represents the University of Chicago in professional, alumni, and civic functions.

* Directs the work of student workers and volunteer assistant coaches.

* Has a moderate/high level of authority to participate in staff meetings, individual planning meetings, and parent-student staffings.

* Helps staff to plan and execute events.

* Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

* Bachelor's degree.

Experience:

* Minimum of two years of significant and relevant playing or teaching/coaching experience in Lacrosse.

Certifications:

* CPR/First Aid certification, which may be fulfilled upon employment.

* Valid drivers' license.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

* Proficient in computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite, etc.

* Familiarity with NCAA rules and Division III philosophy.

Preferred Competencies

* Excellent verbal and written communication.

* Strong organizational skills and handle multiple tasks and assignments concurrently.

* This is a part-time position of approximately 15 hours per week.
