About this OpportunityBrunswick County is looking for a part-time Athletic Program Assistant to join our Parks & Recreation team. The part-time Athletic Program Assistant works under the general supervision of the Athletic and Parks Maintenance Superintendent and Athletic Coordinators, and duties can include:
- Monitoring various athletic games and events for youth and adult sports programs such as baseball, softball, football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, etc.
- Keeping official score books.
- Operating game clocks and scoreboards
- Assisting with event preparation, set-up and breakdown.
- Working concession stands, tournaments and events.
- Chaperoning and overseeing teams that play out of town during the summer.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Flexible schedules and experience with sports activities is a plus. Position is part-time, and work takes place mostly in the evening and on weekends. Applicant must be able to work odd hours during the week, at night and weekends. Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED; OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.Requires some experience in recreation and/or athletics. Physical RequirementsMust be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently; and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
