Niagara County Community College has a need for part time Technical Assistants in our Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Division to assist in the setting up and maintenance of the Auditorium/Theatre for events and programs.

The rate of pay is based on the level of education the candidate possesses. For a Bachelor's degree or lower the rate of pay will be $20.60 per hour. For a Master's degree or higher the rate of pay will be $22.66 per hour.

In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, Niagara County Community College will accept applications on a continuous basis. Typical Work Activities

* Setup and operate lighting for different events / programs

* Fix, repair, maintain, and organize lighting equipment and all associated attachments involved with lighting

* Fix, repair, maintain, and organize sound equipment and all associated attachments involved with sound

* Supervise or construct sets or props needed for all events / programs

* Supervise all aspects of safety concerning the usage of the facility

* Work in Excel in creating / updating inventory database

* Work with supervision on scheduling, purchasing and coordinating activities within the facility

* Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Essential Functions

Must be able to operate computers; must be able to relate to a diverse population of students; must be able to relate to faculty, staff, and senior members of the administration; must be able to communicate verbally and in writing; must be able to physically perform the functions of the position; must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Required Qualifications

* Associates degree

* Experience working with lighting, staging and/or sound for productions/events,

* Physical ability to lift 10 - 20 lb. objects,

* Flexible work schedule; dependent upon the schedule of events which might include days, nights and/or weekends.

Desirable Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Technical Productions or related field,

* Two or more years of experience working with lighting and/or sound for productions/events

* Experience with set construction,

* Experience with ETC lighting equipment and networks or an equivalent manufacturer,

* Experience with analog and digital sound boards,

* Experience with AVID ProTools.

* Two years of experience working in carpentry
