We are proudly part of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools.We are currently seeking a Part-Time Bookstore Sales Associate with strong customer service skills to work in our school bookstore.Reports to: CFO/COO and the Bookstore ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSummary: The Bookstore Sales Associate is responsible for servicing, planning, organizing, and assuring the efficient and effective operation of the school bookstore, and assist with front desk coverage and other administrative support as requested. This is a part-time position, 7:30 am- 12:30 pm, Monday thru Friday.Job Description Book Store Responsibilities Create a welcoming environment and assist students, parents, faculty, and staff while shopping in the bookstore.Answer customers' questions and concerns and assure proper supplies are available when needed.Process orders; including arrangements for special orders.Receive and unpack incoming orders, checking against items listed on requisitions, invoices or other order forms.Account for daily charges received and accounts receivable following established guidelines and procedures; assure proper payment and settlement of invoices, including any adjustments or returns.Perform monthly closing procedures in a timely fashion to upload to student billing.Respond to parent and or student needs, questions, and complaints.May provide customer service/sales functions for special events (including but not limited to admissions, back-to-school, and year-end events).Qualifications The ideal candidate will have prior customer service, retail, bookkeeping or purchasing experience.Minimum of a high school diploma required.Demonstrated experience in Excel, Word, Gmail and other software.Familiarity with Square or other POS (Point-of-Sale) systems a plus.Ability to multitask and prioritize work activities.Must be detail oriented with strong organization and time management skills.Possess strong interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service.As members of the international network of Sacred Heart schools, we are committed to attracting and retaining faculty with a passion for teaching, who demonstrate an active faith, practice a deep respect for intellectual values, promote social awareness, build community, and value personal growth and responsibility.
