Simpson College invites application for a part-time Campus Security Officer. The primary job function is to maintain a standard of safety and security for the campus. Routinely patrol campus and parking lots, assist community members, and enforce the rules and regulations of Simpson College. This isa 12-month part-time (generally three 8-hour shifts/week, including evening, nights & weekends) position.Required Skills/Abilities:* Interpersonal/communication skills: Position requires above-ordinary courtesy and tact to communicate effectively with diverse individuals in routine, high stress, and emergency situations. Also requires abilities to de-fuse emotionally charged situations and to write clearly.* Physical fitness: The ability to perform daily activities with endurance and strength, such as standing or walking and lifting.* Problem-solving: The ability to find quick solutions to issues, react appropriately in stressful situations, and pay attention to details on rounds and when investigating.* Teamwork: The ability to work well in a team or alone and to be dependable.* Knowledge: Knowledge of standard security & safety protocols, legal guidelines, & relevant computer applications.
