JOB GOAL The Cashier/Helper is responsible for the uninterrupted and efficient recording of all cash and credit transactions for the assigned kitchen. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs cashier duties including operation of the Point of Sale terminal.
- Balances cash register, reconciles cash and checks and prepares daily bank deposits.
- Prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports following local, state and federal guidelines.
- Assists with food preparation and/or setup prior to opening.
- Assists in the kitchen, where needed.
- Assists with training of new or substitute cashiers.
- Regular and timely attendance.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor or Food Service Director.
Classroom Assistant: QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Ability to follow directions and learn new procedures.
- Certifications, including but not limited to: CPR and First Aid.
- Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and students.
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
JOB GOAL Classroom Assistants, under the direction of a certificated staff member, assist in conducting intensified learning experiences for students throughout the district in assigned areas of study and/or perform a variety of clerical and supportive tasks to aid the instructional process. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supports the needs of students as identified in the IEP, as well as through the instructional plan designed by the certificated teacher and the IEP team.
- Oversees students during class, tutoring, playground, eating activities, emergencies and preparedness drills under the jurisdiction of certificated teacher always observing student's behaviors carefully to ensure personal and group safety.
- Assists and supervises in transferring children to and from buses, special equipment, classrooms and events, ensuring student's safety at all times.
- Supports the behavioral and academic plan of the student including data collection needed for progress monitoring and reports concerns and finding to the certificated teacher.
- Assists and supervises in the toilet training, toileting, diapering, dressing, cleaning, feeding and lifting of students as necessary.
- Performs clerical duties with specific instructions and established work methods. Specific tasks may include typing, copying, collating, distributing materials and operating instructional media, office machines, and equipment.
- Assists students with use of instructional and/or assistive technology as directed by classroom teacher.
- Participates in District in-service training programs, as assigned.
- Obtains and maintains CPR, First Aid Certification, and Highly Qualified Status as defined by state and federal regulations.
- Additional duties can occur depending on assignments given. Classroom assistants will be assigned to an area in special education each year (e.g., learning support, PCA, autism support, life skills support, etc.). See Classroom Assistant Handbook for more details.
