PART TIME CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

DEPARTMENT: Public Services - Planning

HIRING RATE: $25.34/hour

BENEFITS OFFERED: No Benefits Offered

POSITION TO BE FILLED: ASAP

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: Monday-Friday up to 29 hours per week

LOCATION OF POSITION: Public Services Building - Dunlap

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Within County (please complete driving page on application)

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for conducting on-site investigations/inspections of complaints, reviewing complaints for compliance with ordinances, and providing consulting services to resolve complaints and/or violations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* Associates Degree or completion of technical specialty programs of 18 months- 3 years duration required; 1-2 years' experience in related field preferred

* Knowledge of and ability to read, interpret and apply state and local zoning and building codes, maps, and county geography

* Ability to competently serve the public with diplomacy and respect, including occasional encounters with irate/hostile persons

* Valid driver's license; must be 18 years of age

* Excellent organizational, communication skills and a sound knowledge of office procedures and practices

* Pre-employment background check
