offers residential environmental education visits to school children in Hampshire. Located in the New Forest, we work with our visitors to help them learn and understand more about the world around them, and all our team members across the service help enable this work.
This is a small Centre, and the family atmosphere created by the whole team is a vital part of our appeal to our visitors.
In the kitchen, this is an opportunity to cook with home-grown organic and other local produce, liaising closely with other staff in the education and gardening teams to continue our commitment to education for sustainability.
With previous experience in a role where you have cooked for groups of people, and with enthusiasm to put fresh home cooked meals on the menu, you will normally cook for up to 38 children and members of staff.
In this busy and yet rewarding role, you will work with our other cook to look after the stock rotation, order food and plan the menu. You will ensure that food is prepared, cooked, and served in a safe and hygienic environment whilst making sure all dietary needs are met.
During school holidays and occasional weekends, the centre is used for non-school courses and events. Some of these may request catering, we envisage the plus 3 weeks over the holidays would be worked flexibly to cover these.
