Location : NorthwestMaryville campus in Maryville, MO Job Type: Part-time Job Number: 890120 Department: Facility Services Opening Date: 07/01/2024 EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Weekend position PRIMARY DUTY: This position for a part-time custodian will work a Saturday and Sunday weekend. The employee is hired to cover for full-time employees or project work. The employee will be expected to fulfill all job requirements as requested by the custodial supervisor. The part-time employee must be flexible on working days and hours to meet the needs of the campus. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Clean, stock, and sanitize areas using established practices and procedures
  • Use authorized cleaning supplies and equipment to keep the interior of the buildings looking clean and professional
  • Adhere to the company's safety policies to create a safe work environment for everyone
  • Secure and lock assigned areas
  • Assist with event set-up and tear down
  • Use and maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and report all repairs needed
  • Assist in cleaning of spills
  • Change light bulbs throughout campus as needed
  • Observe and report the need of repairs throughout campus
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The usual work schedule will be Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a half hour lunch. Some shift rotation may take place. This position is exposed to both very cold and very hot conditions. This position must demonstrate safety responsibility and the ability to wear all personal protective equipment (PPE). This position is considered essential staff. Essential staff provide services that relate directly to the health, safety, and welfare of the University, ensure continuity of key operations, and maintain and protect University properties. Should the University close for any reason, essential staff will report to work as usual. EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Custodial cleaning equipment, custodial chemicals, office machines, lifts, and motor vehicles TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the ability to walk, stand, bend, and/or reach, as well as climb a ladder and clear snow and ice when needed; Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate standard custodial equipment COMMUNITY: Northwest Missouri State University is located in Maryville, Missouri, a community of 12,000 with a diverse economy and a strong industrial base.
