NATURE OF WORK: An employee hired for this position performs a variety of manual work duties daily to assist in keeping the location clean and maintained. The employee also would be responsible for performing recurring tasks in accordance with established practices and cleaning schedules. If a problem or issue arises, this employee will assist the direct supervisor or administrator. Supervision is direct with frequent inspections to assure completion of assignments in accordance with instructions given and standards of cleanliness.SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- Cleaning practices that include but are not limited to; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, polishing floors, dusting, etc.
- Assisting in moving or arranging furniture
- Washing windows, walls, or other surfaces as needed.
- Replenishes tissue, towels, and soap in restrooms, kitchens, and classroom facilities.
- Empties waste baskets and other trash receptacles.
- Locks and unlocks doors as needed.
- Sorts/stores materials for recycling programs.
- Reports to supervisor any damages or needed repairs.
- Keeps location clear of litter of any kind.
- Assist in controlling the heating and air equipment at location.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED:
- Ability to follow simple oral and written directions.
- Some skill in the use of small equipment used in the routine cleaning.
- Some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
