Description: Responsible for teaching curriculum plans to assist immigrant and refugee adults in increasing English language proficiency for daily life, education, and employment. RequirementsPrincipal Responsibilities and Duties:
- Instruct adult immigrant and refugee students using ESL best practices to increase students' functional language proficiency and to reach students' educational and employment goals.
- Organized in maintaining excellent student records including attendance and submitting data required by Adult Education policies promptly.
- Adhere to government grant requirements.
- Plan and implement lessons and activities appropriate to the type and level of class being taught for the English language
- Attend required Adult Education monthly departmental meetings as requested and engage in a minimum of 15 hours of professional development during the fiscal year.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's or master's degree required.
- Oklahoma state teacher certification or TESOL/TESL certification required.
- Two years' ESL teaching experience required.

- Experienced in using digital platforms for virtual and in-person instruction (e.g. Microsoft Office and Teams, Google Classroom, Zoom, etc.).
- Strong commitment to learning, growth, and continuous improvement under the supervision of an Instructional Coach.
- Effective interpersonal skills in working with personnel at all organizational levels.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, especially as required in preparing lessons and working and interacting with diverse groups of students, internal and external contacts.
