Position Title: Part-Time Faculty, Biology Department/School: School of Science Salary/Pay Rate: $1,213 per 1 credit with upward adjustment for years of service at Marist College. Pay may vary depending on credits pertaining to online, graduate, music, or lab courses. Job Summary: The School of Science at Marist College is pleased to invite applications for Part-Time Faculty in the Department of Biology, for the 2024-2025 academic year. In the fall semester the Department is searching for qualified individuals to teach General Biology I, a course covering the scientific method, the chemical and cellular basis of life, energy transformations, DNA structure and replication, protein synthesis, and cell division. In the spring semester instructors are sought for General Biology II, a course covering the scientific method, transmission genetics and inheritance, evolution, and ecological relationships. These classes require instructors to teach in-person, one lecture section (two 75-minute meetings per week) and one associated lab section (one 165-minute meeting per week). We also seek qualified individuals to teach in-person lecture-only biology courses for non-science majors such as Topics in Biology, Human Biology, and Life on Earth. Looking for instructors to teach: General Biology I lecture & lab: TF 12:30-1:45pm lecture & W 2:-4:45 pm lab Human Anatomy & Physiology I lab: W 8:00-10:45 am 2 sections of non-majors Topics in Biology: MR 8:00-9:15 am and TR 5:00-6:15 pm Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include an M.A. or M.S. in Biology or closely related field, strong interest in undergraduate education, a commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching, and interest in working collaboratively with others. Essential Functions: Effectively teach on-the-ground General Biology I and/or II, Topics in Biology or other non-majors biology course(s) to help achieve departmentally-determined student learning outcomes.
