Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success in serving diverse student populations.SCC invites qualified candidates to apply for our pooled part-time faculty position to teach our College Success Seminar. In spring 2024, this 1-credit hour hybrid course meets for the first 8-weeks on campus, one day per week, and is fully online the second 8-weeks.The course is fully designed and developed in Canvas with a prepared weekly assignment. Instructors for the College Success Seminar courses direct students to the content in Canvas, serve as a point of contact throughout the semester to provide referrals for academic support and additional resources to students, and provide engaging classroom meeting activities to encourage student-to-student engagement and a sense of belonging on campus.Instructors will teach multiple sections of the COL 101: College Success Seminar course each semester. Part-time appointments are made on a semester-by-semester (as needed) basis.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with the Canvas Learning Management System and Zoom.Demonstrated experience teaching or working in student support roles at an educational institution (community college experience preferable).Familiarity with the St. Charles Community College campuses.
