Job Description:
The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at Syracuse University is seeking a substitute part-time instructor to teach one 4 credit section of HIN 102 (Hindi/Urdi II) and one 4-credit section of HIN 202 (Hindi/Urdi IV) in person effective February 24, 2025 to March 31, 2025. The rateof pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per credit rate history within the hiring department.Course Description:HIN 102, Hindi II (TuTh 12:30-1:50 p.m.; W 11:40 a.m.-12:35 p.m.)Continuing proficiency-based course which develops communicative abilities in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in culturally authentic contexts. Activities are conducted in Hindi/Urdu.HIN 202, Hindi IV (TuTh 11:00 a.m.-12:20 p.m.; W 10:35 a.m.-11:30 a.m.)Continuing proficiency-based course which further refines and expands linguistic skills in culturally authentic contexts. Incorporates reading, discussing, and analyzing texts as a basis for the expression and interpretation of meaning. Conducted in Hindi/Urdu.QualificationsMaster's Degree required; native or near-native fluency required.
