Application materials for this adjunct position accepted on an on-going basis due to increasing demand for courses in this subject area. The Workforce and Economic Development Division (WED) of Metropolitan Community College is the leader in innovative workforce solutions and community enrichment. We partner to first develop our community in order to develop it economically for the growth of the Kansas City metro's citizens; families, businesses, industry, organizations, and associations. As an instructor you will prepare students to perform basic nursing skills for individuals in long-term care facilities, adult daycare centers, hospitals or homes. Through training students will gain the knowledge of varies requirements in the nursing field.
- Study the theory of being a CNA
- Participate in skilled lab training and supervised clinical training.
- Practice nursing skills such as vital signs, bathing techniques, feeding technique's, handwashing, gloving, skin care, transfer techniques, dressing and grooming to prepare students for the Missouri CNA assessment.
Minimal Qualifications
- A Registered Nurse licensed in Missouri or in possession of a temporary permit from the Missouri State Board of Nursing. The licensee shall not be subject to current disciplinary action;
AND
- Two (2) years of nursing experience and at least one (1) year experience in a LTC facility within the last 5 years.
- The applicant must provide documentation showing these requirements are fulfilled. The DHSS will evaluate and verify the applicant's credentials (resume). The DHSS will notify the individual in writing within seven (7) to ten (10) working days regarding the request.
- An applicant will attend the state approved instructor train-the-trainer course once hired. When the individual has successfully completed the course their name will be added to the Department's CNA Instructor.
