Newington Public Schools is accepting applications for part-time substitute and permanent part-time employees working in our school kitchens. Starting salaries are $16.50/hour for substitutes, $18.18/hour for elementary part-time employees and $16.92/hour for middle & high part-time employees. Tasks include food prep, serving/cashiering and clean-up. Great job for individuals with school-age kids. This is a 10 month (summers off), Monday through Friday position with nights, weekends, holidays and school vacations off. The hours are 3.75 hours per day (typically between 10:00 - 1:45 p.m.). Good communication skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment, and lift up to 50 lbs. are required. Employees are eligible for a $60 uniform allowance and a 5% yearly bonus based on hours worked. There are no medical benefits and you must pass a criminal background check.
