Job Title Part-time Graduate Advisor Department CIST Essential Functions
This position will work closely with the Graduate Advisor II position in the College of IS&T recruiting, onboarding, and advising students in the Master's and Doctoral Degrees offered in the College of IS&T. The part-time advisor will also support the career advising and student professional development sessions offered in the College of IS&T.
Academic Advising- Manage a caseload of students, including working with students from admission through graduation. Collaborate with students to choose courses that aligns with the degree program plan and student goals. Complete forms and work closely with faculty advisors to ensure students are meeting the requirements required for graduation.
Student recruitment, admissions, and orientation - In collaboration with the Graduate Advisor II position, lead new graduate student orientation in Fall and Spring and meet with prospective students to discuss admission and program requirements.
Career and Professional Development - Assist international students with completing forms for Occupational Practical Training (OPT) and Curricular Practical Training (CPT). Collaborate with the Graduate Advisor II to develop professional development opportunities for the Graduate Student Learning Community.
