Department/AdministrationEXEMPTION: Non-exemptSUPERVISES: N/AJob descriptionThe Center for Family Life in Sunset Park is seeking a Part-Time I.T. Support Assistant. The role involves providing technical assistance and support to employees, maintaining hardware and software systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization's I.T. infrastructure. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive, customer-service-oriented mindset. This position is a 3-month position with the possibility of turning into a permanent position dependent on performance.Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues to staff.
- Respond to technical queries in person or remotely and run diagnostic programs to isolate problems.
- Set up, configure, and maintain computers, printers, scanners, and peripheral equipment.
- Manage user accounts and access controls based on company policies.
- Perform on-prem and cloud server maintenance, including patch management, system monitoring, backups, and hardware updates.
- Conduct cybersecurity troubleshooting, covering email security, phishing prevention, network security, AI security, and related concerns.
- Support the organization's network, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN systems.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders, Program Directors, supervisors, and some staff to assess their technical needs and/or new technologies/solutions.
- Research, learn, and implement new technologies/solutions as needed.
- Lead meetings daily with I.T. Director to report on progress, address issues, and execute I.T. needs.
- Provide technical support for teleconference and video conference systems.
- Assist with virus management and perform routine maintenance to prevent system outages.
- Provide assistance for the VoIP phone system, including troubleshooting and staff support.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on the computer network, system configurations, and hardware.
- Keep records of repairs, fixes, and technical support requests for future reference.
- Help create, document, and enforce I.T. department policies and procedures.
- Perform inventory audits and test computer systems and networks to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage and install software updates and security options to protect systems from cyber threats.
- Provide after-hours support when necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- 2+ years of experience providing I.T. support and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Experience in Microsoft 365 Administration is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, and networking principles (TCP/IP).
- Familiarity with network support, server maintenance, and user account management.
- Excellent organizational and project coordination skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and provide clear technical guidance to non-technical staff.
- Customer service-oriented with a strong desire to assist colleagues with technical issues.
- Experience supporting teleconferencing, and VoIP phone systems.
This is a Part-time Non-Exempt Position with an expected schedule of 29 hours per week. Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hourSchedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
