Creates and maintains records and files as directed.Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates computer and radiographic equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body, under the supervision of a Radiologist. Performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuing optimal quality images.
- Prepares patient for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing patients needs and providing patient education.
- Records appropriate chart notations in Patient Information System and/or Patient files. Prepares and maintains records and files as directed. Stores and maintains films according to department policy and procedures.
- Prepares patient films for interpretation by radiologist.
- Practices safety measures in radiography and Environment of Care. Maintains and tests equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Assist Physicians with Orthopedic casting procedures to include the application and removal of a variety of casts and splints. Prepare and position patient for casting procedures. Instruct patients in cast ware, wound care, swelling, and how to remove and apply splints.
- Perform routine examinations and treatment procedures to include removing casts, cleaning wounds and applying medications and dressings.
- Cross train in clinical areas to support patients and providers. Room patients, update patient charts, take vitals and patient history.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Handles other duties as required.
QualificationsRequirements and Qualifications
- AAS Radiologic Technology.
- Current ARRT Certification and NYS License.
- Minimum of two years of Radiologic Technologist experience.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills while performing any and all tasks associated with the position.
Physical Demands
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, and speaking.
- Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 poundswith assistance if needed.
- May need to lift or turn patients who are disabledwith assistance if needed.
- Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine, and phone.
