Job Description:
Position Summary: The Kids Coordinator is responsible for leadership over assigned responsibilities. This role will work closely with the Kids Pastor-Benton to oversee the discipleship and safety of children and teachers at the Benton campus. This is a non-exempt, part-time position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Work with Kids Pastor to recruit & hire Childcare Teachers
  • Train Childcare Teachers
  • Coordinate with Church staff to schedule Childcare for church events.
  • Schedule the appropriate amount of Childcare Teachers for the events.
  • This involves being up to date on all church events, communicating with the leaders of these events and scheduling Childcare Teachers to work these events.
  • Plan and prepare curriculum and supplies for all Childcare Events.
  • This involves making sure the teachers have everything needed for their lessons, are prepared for their lessons and can teach the lessons appropriately.
  • Oversee all classrooms, teachers and children during Childcare Events.
  • Place Childcare Teachers in scheduled classroom.
  • Fill any gaps from text-outs / call-outs.
  • Place children in appropriate classrooms based on current guidelines and ratios.
  • Handle any incidents and support leaders as needed.
  • Kids Ministry Administration Tasks
  • Take care of classroom clean up / set up (making copies, rosters, lesson set up)
  • Order classroom supplies and craft supplies
  • Assist with event coordinating (ordering food, sending CRFs, espace)
  • Assist with onboarding volunteers (keeping up with compliance)
  • Other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • College Education (preferred)
  • Nonprofit or ministry experience a plus
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and creating flyers on Canva
  • Proficient in Facebook and Instagram for posting to Special Needs Ministry pages
  • A heart for the discipleship of children and parents at Fellowship Benton
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to organize needs for Sunday services and childcare events
  • Relational with staff, parents, and children
  • Lead/assist with other special childcare or special needs events, when needed
  • Ability to solve problems with childcare issues including getting substitutes for classes
  • Work with other Fellowship campuses and staff to maintain our Special Needs and childcare ministry at Benton

  • Living out the spiritual principles outlined in the Code of Conduct

  • 15 hours per week
  • Hours fluctuate during the summer months and holidays.
