Job Summary
The Lab Technician conducts open lab hours to assist faculty in the day-to-day laboratory operations at a local or divisional site.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Ensures that Students and faculty have adequate resources to perform all aspects of course requirements
* Assists Student-Aids to perform all required job duties safely and maintains competency records
* Ensures that there are adequate resources and supplies for teaching
* Maintains an open door policy and communicates with student, faculty, and administration to promote development and accountability
* Assists Lab Manager in organizing lab for teaching and testing
* Organizes and inventories adequate supplies
* Ensures deliveries are checked & stocked properly
* Reports malfunctions, discrepancies, & other issues related to the use of equipment and materials to the Lab Manager
* Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
* Associates degree in related field from a regionally accredited institution or two (2) years of College (60 credits equivalent) and one (1) year of related experience.
* All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
* Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
* Ability to follow OSHA safety and proper disposal requirements in the laboratory
* Knowledge and understanding of student and faculty requirements for lab procedures, skills, and testing
* Ability to positively interact with staff, students, and faculty
* Possess a friendly demeanor and provide intelligent solutions
* Possess good communication skills both orally and in writing
* Ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
* Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
