Both Leslie's and Stellar strive to create a positive and fun atmosphere where our Team Members feel valued and are enthusiastic about the contributions they make to the success of Stellar.Job Overview:We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic I to join our team at our plant in Sauget, IL.About the role:To install, maintain and repair machine tools, mechanical equipment and electronic apparatus.Responsibilities:Operates and observes equipment for the purpose of troubleshooting problems and testing performance of equipment.Reads work orders and performs jobs as per work order, asking questions if clarification is needed.Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.Repairs and rebuilds equipment, adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments.Installs equipment, devices, and instruments.Performs preventative maintenance such as lubricating equipment, changing filters, inspecting parts for wear, and cleaning equipment. Logs preventative maintenance activity.Works with supervisor to initiate purchase orders for parts and equipment.Makes entries to logbook documenting problems and serving as the maintenance record for the plant and equipment.Understands plant labeling requirements ensuring all chemicals are properly labeled and managed.Recommends measures to improve equipment performance and maintenance activities.Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.Qualifications:Ability to read, write, and speak English to document problems, read technical manuals, and parts catalogs.Requires a minimum of three years prior experience as a maintenance mechanic, technical courses, and the ability to perform basic math and use measurements, along with the ability to read blueprints and/or schematics.Equipment:Individuals will work with tools and instruments such as drill press, hand tools, micrometers, welding equipment, and drafting equipment.May work with PC.Physical Demands:The employee is frequently required to stand, lift, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and walk.Must be able to lift 100 pounds and work in uncomfortable positions for prolonged periods.Employee may be exposed to various chemicals.Must be able to wear a respirator and/or other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.Must be able to work in heat and cold.Company Offers:Competitive salary commensurate with experience and education.Comprehensive benefits package available (health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, and more).Other benefits include a 4-day work week, company perks, social gatherings, bonuses, merit increases, and growth opportunities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
