JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:The University Libraries is seeking a dependable part-time News Operations Assistant to work several mornings a week in the Dr. Keiko Miwa Ross Global News Center on the University Park campus.Good attention to detail and reliability are required. The News operations Assistant is responsible for physically processing the current print national and international newspapers as they arrive in the Libraries. This includes sorting, stapling, and recording receipt of the Libraries in-house printed newspapers as well as sorting, stamping, and recording receipt of the Libraries mail-delivered newspapers. Other tasks include creating the daily newspaper front page display, maintaining newspapers on the shelves, and special news-related projects as needed. Ability to lifting up to 20 lbs. is required.The successful candidate needs to be able to work 1.5 hours between 8 a.m. and noon on 2-3 weekdays with an additional 1.5 hours on either Saturday or Sunday.
