ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors in the Pharmacy Technician program. Part-time instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time teaching assignments become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Part-time/adjunct faculty in the Pharmacy Technician program are responsible for teaching the objectives for any course assigned, the assessment of student learning, and reporting of student progress as required by the college and any regulatory body.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Licensed pharmacist or a nationally certified pharmacy technician; eligible to practice in the State of Illinois.
* A pharmacy technician must have graduated from an ASHP/ACPE- accredited pharmacy technician training program OR
* Possesses or is actively pursuing, with written plan for achieving, at least an Associate's degree; OR
* Has an appropriate state teaching credential.
* Three years of experience as a pharmacist or pharmacy technician in pharmacy practice; minimum of 1 year in hospital-based pharmacy, and current knowledge in the areas instructing.
* One year of teaching experience preferred.
* Member of a national pharmacy or education association or education association and a state pharmacy association preferred.
* Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and advising skills.
* Competency with applicable software systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Blackboard, etc.) preferred.
* Ability to meet, successfully complete and maintain minimum health requirements, drug and/or reference checks required by college and/or clinical facilities prior to and throughout employment.
* Shall meet the minimum standards of instruction established by the Administration and the Board of Trustees for any assigned courses.
* A valid driver's license is required.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
Salary varies based on educational level and number of units taught.

WORK LOCATION
Pharmacy Technician courses are offered at the SWIC Belleville campus. Driving may be required to reach off-campus sites, visit clinical facilities throughout the region.
