Seeking a part-time instructor to teach entry-level plumbing training to allow others to find quality jobs in the plumbing industry. Our concentrated course is designed to prepare future employees with the plumbing skills needed to be successful in an entry-level job. With a focus on in-class and hands-on lab training, the GUTTS Academy offers a unique blend of theory and practical experience that employers highly value. Instructor Duties:
  • Prepare for and provide instruction commensurate with the syllabus.
  • Document student attendance, grades, and progress.
  • Provide students with knowledge and skills development needs through instruction and labs.
  • Ensure the safety of the training room and lab areas, machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Prepare students for testing to receive certifications.
  • Comply with program policies and guidelines.
  • Develop good relations with students.
  • Prepare, review, and recommend updates to the course syllabus and curriculum as needed.
  • Interact with students, co-workers, and business partners cooperatively and professionally.
Requirements:
  • A valid driver's license. Reliable transportation to the job site or access to reliable public transportation.
  • High school diploma or GED (but not required).
  • Maintain your current knowledge of the trade industry and code.
  • Teaching experience is preferred but not required.
  • Solid background and knowledge of foundational plumbing principles and theories.
  • Current Journeyman plumbing License or Master plumbing License preferred or eight years of field-level plumbing experience.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Communication skills, as required to interact with students.
  • Basic HVAC knowledge is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Will be required to work in a lab setting.
  • Prolonged periods of standing or kneeling may be required.
